Mindspace continues to adapt to the evolving COVID-19 health crisis to ensure we can provide mental health services to our community. Here is an update on adjustments made to our therapy and coaching services, as well as our programming, including free online support groups.

Therapy

Mindspace practitioners continue to see the majority of their clients via remote therapy sessions. If you would like a virtual appointment with one of our therapists, please fill out this form. Although this arrangement is new to many of our clients and clinicians, and does come with some hiccups (like a meowing cat intruding into an intake interview!), overall our clients are confirming that they have been finding the sessions very helpful. We anticipate that the process of remote therapy will also smooth out as everyone adjusts to the new arrangements, which will allow the focus to fully return to tackling new concerns and long-standing issues. As people are increasingly cut off from many of their typical support systems, and are spending much more time in close proximity with their families, it’s leading to new sources of stress, while the uncontrollable elements of the pandemic are leading to increased reports of insomnia, anxiety, and sadness. Our therapists are actively collaborating to increase their proficiency to deliver the most effective therapy that addresses the needs of a population in crisis.

Support for Organizations

Many organizations also suddenly find themselves with significant challenges related to our new environment and the well-being of their employees, from health care workers under immense stress, to professionals who are struggling to navigate a very new landscape. Mindspace has also tailored a comprehensive online service offering to help individuals, leaders and organizations manage through this unprecedented environment we find ourselves in due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have leveraged our large team of highly skilled, certified health and well-being professionals to support employee needs.

Our Group Programs

In progress group programs for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Therapy for Anxiety and Depression have moved online and we are pleased to report that the client response has been overwhelmingly positive under the circumstances. Many of you have reported finding comfort and practical strategies for managing this crisis through these groups, and therefore we are committed to continuing to offer them in an online format for the foreseeable future until this crisis resolves. As such, the majority of our upcoming spring programming, including Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Deepening Mindfulness are still open for registration and will proceed in an online format until further notice.

Free Online Support for COVID-19

We also realize that many in our community are suddenly faced with financial challenges that seemed an impossibility only a week or two ago. With this in mind, and knowing that this crisis is putting a great deal of additional strain on everyone’s mental health and well-being, we will be offering some free online support groups led by members of our team, beginning next week. They will be interactive video chats where a therapist or coach will offer some general perspective and mental health tips, followed by facilitated discussion. No advance sign-up is necessary, simply click the registration/join link at the time of the meetings.  We will also be offering free morning meditations starting next week, with details to come.
