Dr. Catherine Gagnon holds a doctorate from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (2018) with a specialization in cognitive and behavioral therapy and has been a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec since 2016.

My therapeutic approach

Trained in psychodynamic approaches such as the Masterson Approach and Mentalization-Based Therapy, I enjoy going deeper with you using my clinical understanding of the dynamics of your personality. Thanks to these approaches, I believe that we are able to better know ourselves and become aware of our intrapsychic processes. Psychodynamic approaches allow, in my opinion, lasting changes to your personality.

Although I am particularly fond of these approaches, I have also specialized in third wave cognitive and behavioral approaches. These approaches integrate several tools which have shown their effectiveness in the treatment of several problems. Approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness make a lot of sense to me, because they offer concrete tools to get into action, achieve wellness, and build a life that makes sense for you, based on your core values.

With my theoretical and practical background, my goal is to offer you a psychotherapy that is best suited to your needs and your personality, with a warm and human welcome. I look forward to supporting you in your process.

Dr. Gagnon practices primarily in French.
