Julien obtained his Ph.D. from McGill University and has received training in mindfulness-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and therapies based on emotional processing, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). He is also a certified facilitator of mindfulness-based interventions, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
