Dr. Macdonald, psychologist was awarded her doctorate in Clinical Psychology by the University of Ottawa. She has experience providing assessment and intervention services to adult clients in a variety of settings including The Ottawa Hospital, Elizabeth Bruyère Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, and the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Psychological Services and Research. Dr. Macdonald began working at the MindSpace Clinic in March 2014.

Approach

Dr. Macdonald works with clients presenting with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, anger, perfectionism, and difficulty adjusting to a life change. She places strong emphasis on developing an open, non-judgmental, and supportive therapeutic space in which therapy goals can be pursued.

Dr. Macdonald integrates mindfulness-based interventions with the Cognitive-behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) modalities in her approach to helping clients identify and disentangle from unhelpful mental habits and develop more effective ways of relating to emotions and navigating life’s challenges. Dr. Macdonald works with clients primarily in English.
