Dr. Maxime Bourgault is a senior psychologist and the Site Psychotherapy Director for Mindspace. He completed his doctorate at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and has been practicing psychotherapy with individuals and groups for the past 5 years. He works with teenagers over the age of 17, adults, and seniors facing a wide variety of challenges.

While classically trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Max also integrates elements of Young’s Schema Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into his practice. This allows him to tailor his approach for the individual needs of each client, optimizing efficiency. Basic pragmatism fuels his on-going need to learn and integrate diverse therapeutic options.

Max is passionate, compassionate, and open-minded. His genuine kindness is contagious, making it easy to be authentic around him. He is a certified yoga teacher and has led multiple mindfulness-based therapy groups. His passion for studying human potential has taken him all over the world, experiencing the benefits of many traditions first-hand. This includes the use of psychedelic medicines in traditional settings. He is currently in training to join the Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy Team at Mindspace.
