As a therapist, my style is compassionate, practical, and non-judgmental. I am unequivocally on my clients’ side, blending tried-and-true cognitive-behavioural interventions with accessible mindfulness exercises to help clients cultivate awareness, resilience, and self-compassion. My supportive and collaborative approach empowers my clients to acknowledge and allow tough emotions, shift thinking, modify unhelpful behaviour, and establish new and healthier patterns of thinking and feeling.
I regularly work with clients struggling with generalized anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and burnout. Further interests include parenting, single parenting, work, and gender equity at work.
I have been teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and other group mindfulness programs at MindSpace since 2013. I have trained at the University of Massachusetts Center for Mindfulness, The Centre for Mindfulness Studies (Toronto), the Insight Meditation Society (Barre, MA), True North Insight, and the Quebec Vipassana Meditation Centre. As a teacher, I coach my students through the process of integrating mindfulness concepts and practices into their everyday lives, and encourage them to personalize their mindfulness practice so that it works for them. In addition to teaching at MindSpace, I have spoken widely on mindfulness and wellbeing, including providing corporate workshops, professional training for other healthcare professionals, and academic lectures.
