Mindful Self-Compassion is a training program and not a form of psychotherapy. No prior experience with mindfulness or meditation is necessary. However, MSC may be considered a logical next step after participation in a program such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. This MSC program involves an orientation session, eight weekly 3 hour sessions, as well as a 3-hour meditation retreat on the weekend between the fifth and sixth sessions. MSC participants are asked to commit to a) attending all ten sessions and b) practicing self-compassion meditation for at least 30 minutes per day for the duration of the program c) purchasing the the accompanying workbook for the course: The Mindful self-compassion Workbook: A proven way to accept yourself, build inner strength and thrive, by Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff.
Difficult or painful emotions may arise during self-compassion practice. Your MSC instructor is committed to providing a supportive environment in which every participant’s self-compassion journey can unfold safely.
Please note this program is live, offered in English, and online.
Participants will also need to purchase the companion workbook: “The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook: A Proven Way to Accept Yourself, Build Inner Strength, and Thrive”, by Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff
