Curious about mindfulness? Interested in learning how to meditate? Want to learn effective strategies for reducing stress?
Mindspace’s Introduction to Mindfulness workshop is a 90-minute introduction to a powerful mental health practice that can help you cultivate a clear mind and a new way of relating to stress. Mindfulness–the practice of open and nonjudgmental awareness in the present moment–is to the mind what physical exercise is to the body: a way to stay fit, flexible and focused. Once practiced primarily in the context of traditional Buddhist meditation, mindfulness is currently broadly used in Western medicine and psychology to reduce stress and anxiety, lift mood, and promote overall health and well-being.
Introduction to Mindfulness is an opportunity for beginners to experience a taste of the peace and calm that meditation can create. You’ll have the chance to practice guided meditation, get answers to your questions, and to know more about the benefits of mindfulness meditation.
You’ll learn:
- How to meditate
- How to respond more effectively to stress
- How to connect to the present moment more effectively
- How to incorporate mindfulness into everyday activities
The scientific evidence for the benefits of mindfulness meditation is well established. This introductory workshop is a great opportunity to experience what mindfulness is all about, and to begin enjoying the benefits!
