Breathwork is the experience of using Conscious Connected Breath, a specific breathing technique. It is an active form of meditation that when used in a safe and intentional setting, can elicit experiences of deep tension and stress release, clarity, relaxation, transformation, and rebalancing. Breathwork is an effective psychotherapeutic tool to promote wellness. 

What are the benefits of practicing breath work? Drs. Richard P. Brown and Patricia L. Gerbarg summarize this nicely in their 2012 book, The Healing Power of Breath: “Studies are revealing that, by changing the patterns of breathing, it is possible to restore balance to the stress response systems, calm an agitated mind, relieve symptoms of anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), improve physical health and endurance, elevate performance, and enhance relationships.”
